Infants

In our area we aim to make the transition from Early Years into Key Stage 1 a positive and enjoyable experience. All members of the team are committed to providing a nurturing, stimulating environment where each child can fulfil their potential.
The school’s mission statement and the teachings of Jesus are central to the ethos and values of our area, and we recognise the importance of prayer, with the children making their own contributions
The children work with different staff throughout the school day and this is a positive experience as it broadens their horizons. All staff have the same expectations of the children and are consistent in their approach.
Our curriculum is varied; as well as the core academic subjects we continue to develop the children’s experiences through art, music and drama. We gather together for acts of worship on a regular basis where we help the children to become familiar with the life of Jesus, and the children take an active part in these.
The children are encouraged to be as independent as possible while we take into account the fact that they are still very young. Our aim is that they move to the next key stage as confident learners who enjoy coming to our school.
